Morning, all.

Behind us: a good weekend. Ahead: a good week, we hope, for everyone.

On Sunday, we launched The Table: our new membership + community where you can find exclusive events and original content. By Monday, it was already hopping.

"LOVE this," one friend said.

Others, understandably, had questions. Mainly one:

"Does it cost $10 a month?"

Yes, it's a $10-a-month subscription.

A subscription gives you membership into The Table, where you can access tickets to exclusive events and stories.

For example:

  • On Thursday, May 29, we're hosting "A Conversation with Randall Tomlinson" at Little Coyote. It's part of our ongoing speaker series.

Want free tickets?

Become a $10-a-month member of The Table and they're yours.

  • On Tuesday, May 20, we've created a very special evening at Calliope.

Join us for an opening private dinner where we'll eat and drink in the upstairs dining room with conversation from Chef Khaled AlBanna, Raven Humphrey (and me.)

Want to reserve your free seats?

Become a member of The Table.

Plus, you receive access to original content. Like this: an interview on the end of Hoff & Pepper.

Hot sauce fans across the nation are mourning the closing of Hoff & Pepper, Chattanooga's homegrown (and best) hot sauce.

On April 25, the decade-old business announced its closing.

“Oh this will ruin my dad’s evening, he keeps bottles at work and at home,” one fan said online.

We're over-the-moon excited about this and what's coming. As always, we love building this with you - our Food as a Verb family.

Thanks, everyone - this Table is going to be a blast.

A few more announcements:

On Saturday, June 7, Southeast TN Young Farmers Coalition hosts its third annual Farm Olympics.

This year, it's at the very special - and very timely - McDonald Farm.

"McDonald Farm is one of the last remaining large pieces of farmland in Hamilton County," said Jess Wilson, board chair of the Southeast TN Young Farmers Coalition.

The farm's future remains in doubt.

"Will it be a resource for area farmers and a connection point for the public to learn about agriculture and the natural abundance that surrounds the farm?" she said.

The Farm Olympics celebrates that possibility while also building support for young regional farmers.

"We will celebrate our community, compete for the Farm Olympics Cup, spread awareness about the serious challenges that young farmers face, and raise money to help our chapter address those issues," Jess said.

Tickets can be purchased here.

You can enter the Olympics - the egg toss, temporary fence race, water trough relay and the ever-popular hay bale toss.

A farm-to-picnic blanket feast includes Cove Creek pork and regionally-sourced sides.

After dinner: a silent auction and community contra dance featuring the Cumberland Mountain Music Makers.

Food as a Verb proudly joins other regional groups - from Lupi's to The Land Trust for Tennessee - as a Farm Olympic sponsor.

  • Finally, coming this Sunday, we've got a very special birthday story for you.

Twenty years ago, a pair of 20-somethings took the biggest risk of their lives: opening a restaurant that would ultimately change the identity of our city forever.

See you then ...
