Welcome to The Table: a new form of community
More events, more content, more community.
Food as a verb thanks
for sponsoring this series

Earlier this year, we were out in Marion County, walking with Randall Tomlinson, our friend, cattle farmer and regenerative-ag expert.

We met his cows.

And his dog.

Then, somewhere during the afternoon together - maybe as we were moving the herd, maybe as Randall was telling his own story - it happened.
It's happened dozens of times. Sarah and I are out somewhere - in the fields, the kitchens, with chefs and farmers - when we pause and remember.
We remember you.

All this beauty, integrity and meaning we're encountering? Yes, we try to share it through our stories.
Why? Because in our culture these days, we are so hungry for that shared ground where we can remember our roots: the land, each other, our own sense of goodness and joy.
Today, we want to share it with you even more.
Welcome to The Table: a Food as a Verb community.

The Table is a new part of Food as a Verb, allowing us to offer events, experiences and (more) stories that bring us together.
Through The Table, we will curate and host events, publish new and original content and build community (both online and in-person) for you all.
Through The Table, you can encounter the folks who create our local food landscape.
Along the way, we can also encounter one another.
Here's how it works:
By subscribing and joining The Table, you can reserve tickets to our exclusive events and original, extra content.
For example:
On May 29, we'll host "A Conversation with Randall Tomlinson", as part of our Little Coyote Speaker Series. Want to participate? Want a seat?
Subscribe to The Table to reserve your tickets.
We've curated a big line-up of summer and fall events.
- In May, "A Conversation with Randall Tomlinson" - part of our ongoing Little Coyote Speaker Series
- In May, our private, opening dinner at Calliope (Chef Khaled AlBanna, Raven Humphrey and I will speak.)

- Our private, opening dinner at LUNCH (Chef Mallory Grimm and I will speak.)
- In July, our opening Convivium, or. roundtable discussion.
- In August, Raven Humphrey is inviting you to a special one-night only Amaro event.
- In September, our opening book club with Holden Caulfield. (Oh yeah.)
- In November, Mariano Cebrián of Panoram Asados is hosting an exclusive Food as a Verb asada.
We'll also orchestrate a documentary screening of "Roots So Deep", ongoing book clubs, farm tours, a monthly speaker series and even more original events.
Plus, each month, we're offering original columns and created podcasts, with videos coming shortly.
You'll find a seat at this new - and very long, lively - table we're building.
Extra content.
Exclusive events.
More community: chefs, farmers and each other.
Again, nothing changes about Food as a Verb. Each Wednesday and Sunday, we'll continue to publish freely our original, beautiful stories via your inbox, our website and social.
But, so many of you have told us: we want to get closer to those people and places.
By subscribing to The Table, you'll become a core member of our Food as a Verb community, part of this new way to engage with our local food landscape.
Plus, we'll laugh a helluva lot, eat and drink some of the most original and delicious meals around while talking with our neighbors, chefs, farmers and Food as a Verb team.

Not long ago, we sent you a survey about our work. We listened carefully to your feedback.
We created The Table as our response back to you, our friends and Food as a Verb family.
This is our way of bringing our stories to life for you.
